I am an artist-printmaker based in London. I mostly produce screenprints, linocuts and digital coloured drawings. I illustrate underlying issues in society while seeking original ways to look at composition and colour. I am interested in the environment, development and our urban and rural landscapes and their interaction. I emphasise blocks of colour, strong geometric shapes, and contrasting patterns and textures, often with a focus on simplified composition. My screenprints take an iterative, layered reduction approach built up with paper stencils and block-out paint.

My recent work explores abstraction of rural landscape scenes in North Wales and the Pennines. I have also returned to my theme of London views with exploration of the unnoticed beauty of council housing. Last year I developed a series exploring the industrial heritage and natural environment of Walthamstow Wetlands and the Lea Valley.

I am mostly self-taught but also learned at open access print studios. I was active in Birmingham Print Workshop and on moving back to London I founded East London Printmakers.
