With awards worth over £3,900, The New Emergence Art Prize 2025 is open to artists worldwide. There is no set theme and we welcome all media. As an artist-run, online prize with independent judging we champion emerging and underrepresented artists with meaningful recognition and lasting visibility. All shortlisted artists will be featured in our online gallery.
When selecting the shortlist and winners, our judges consider concept, execution, originality, and impact.

NG Art Creative Residency: Emerging Artist Award - 2 week artist residency in Provence, France (value £2,000). Hosted by NG Art Creative at the historic Moulin de Gréoux. (Dates to be agreed with the host).

How to Enter
Step 1 – Prepare your files
Up to 3 artworks may be entered per artist.
JPG only, max size 2MB each.
Include your full name and the artwork title in the JPG title (e.g. John Smith_Artwork Title).
Step 2 – Pay your entry fee
Select one of the options below to pay your entry fee.
After payment, you will be redirected to the submission form to upload your artworks and complete your entry.
Step 3 – Submit your artworks
Complete the submission form by uploading one image per entry and entering the details required. You will see a success message once your submission has gone through and you will receive a confirmation email.
Judging Panel
Joshua Donkor
An acclaimed British-Ghanaian painter, Donkor uses portraiture and photographic transfers to explore memory and diasporic identity. He has exhibited internationally and in 2025 his work was displayed at The Holburne Museum.
Katlego Twala
Based in Botswana, Twala blends classical training (Swedish Academy of Realist Art; Barcelona Academy of Art) with contemporary portraiture. She won the 2024 New Emergence Art Prize and in 2025 she presented a sold-out showcase at RMB Latitudes Art Fair.
Felicity Joy Starr
Raised in Bougival near Paris, Starr is predominantly self-taught, and describes her approach to oils as ‘Sensory Realism’. She has work in the Soho House collection, had a sell-out debut solo show in 2022, serves on the RBA Council and is a Michael Harding ambassador.
