Georgia Dymock’s practice explores intimacy, desire, and identity through allegorical figuration. Combining digitally constructed imagery with the material language of oil paint, she creates psychologically charged scenes in which tenderness, possession, longing, and unease coexist. Drawing on Renaissance and Baroque painting, Surrealism, and contemporary visual culture, her work examines the shifting boundaries between self and other.

Working between 3D modelling, digital image-making, and painting, Dymock develops compositions in virtual space before translating them into oil. This dialogue between digital and physical processes allows her to construct theatrical, dreamlike environments that feel both familiar and uncanny. Paired figures inhabit symbolic, candy-coloured settings where ambiguous gestures and carefully choreographed encounters become allegories for contemporary relationships.

For Dymock, oil paint introduces a physical vulnerability that transforms the smooth perfection of digital imagery into something slower, tactile, and emotionally complex. Through luminous surfaces and symbolic motifs, her paintings build fictional worlds that investigate the contradictions of contemporary intimacy, where affection and alienation, sweetness and discomfort, vulnerability and power are held in delicate tension.
