Gwenda Jones is a contemporary sculptor working predominantly in clay, creating figurative works that explore identity, belonging, agency and human experiences. A Three-Dimensional Design graduate with a background in interiors, Jones brings a strong understanding of form, structure and materiality to her evolving sculptural practice.

Drawing from lived experience and a fascination with the complexities of humanity, her work explores the contrasts and connections that shape who we are, individually and collectively, vulnerability and strength, difference and belonging. Influenced by the human and equine figures, natural textures, and the relationship between what is revealed and what is concealed, Jones creates expressive sculptures that explore transformation, resilience, and agency.

Emerging as a sculptor in 2025, Jones has exhibited nationally, including the Society of Women Artists at Mall Galleries, the Society of Equestrian Artists and selected open exhibitions. She was a Finalist in the Woman in Art Prize 2025 and is an Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, following recognition through RBSA Open and Prize exhibitions.

Her current work explores the layered nature of identity and the tension between ceramic and metal, reflecting an evolving sculptural language of strength and fragility, while opening new possibilities for form and expression.
