My practice explores the boundary between revelation and obscurity, bridging abstract expressionism with haunting figurative elements. Painting in oil on stone paper with a muted Zorn palette, I build up and strip back physical layers to mirror the passage of time—evoking worn Romanesque statuary, weathered frescoes, and mist-bound landscapes.

Working with stone paper, pitch, and wax allows me to engage in a tactile cycle of creation, erasure, and repair. I am drawn to the concept of the palimpsest: surfaces where time has rubbed the image away to reveal the structure beneath, giving form to themes of memory, presence, and absence. Rather than dictating a narrative, I hint at figures—eyes, hands, gestures—allowing them to slowly emerge from shadow. Ultimately, my work investigates human fragility, rupture, and the quiet poetry of decay and restoration.
